About
Rafael Melo is a film editor from São Paulo, Brazil, working more than 10 years in the audiovisual industry. He worked as an editor trainee at the Karim Aïnouz film Futuro Beach, which premiered at the 2014 Berlinale. He worked as an assistant editor and post production coordinator at the Brazilian TV series Pedro & Bianca, which won the International Emmy Award for Best Kid’s Show in 2014. He also edited several episodes of the Latin America’s HBO series The Secret Life of Couples (2017-2019) and was one of the editors of the film Ophelia's Death, which had its premiere at the 2019’s Gramado Film Festival. In 2021, Rafael finished his masters in film editing as a part of the Kinoeyes program, The European Movie Masters. Between 2022 and 2024, Rafael edited episodes for the Netflix series Only for Love (2022) and for the HBOMax series My Magic Closet (2023), in addition to the short film Maputo (2024), awarded at the 2024 Gramado Film Festival in several categories and winner of the editing prize at the National Exhibition of the 2024 Anápolis Film Festival. Recently, Rafael was one of the editors of the HBOMax TV series Scars of Beauty (2025) and the editor of the Samsung web series Everything Under Control (2025).
