About
Rafael Melo is an editor from São Paulo, Brazil, working more than 10 years in the Film and TV industry. He has experience editing features, short films, TV episodes, promos and trailers. He worked as an editor trainee in the Karim Aïnouz film Futuro Beach, which premiered at the 2014 Berlinale. He worked as an assistant editor and post production assistant in the Brazilian TV series Pedro & Bianca, which won the International Emmy Award for Best Kids Show in 2014. He also edited several episodes for the Latin America’s HBO series The Secret Life of Couples and was one of the editors of the film Vou Nadar até Você, which had its premiere in 2019’s Gramado Film Festival. In 2021, Rafael finished his masters in film editing as a part of the Kinoeyes program, The European Movie Masters. Between 2022 and 2024, Rafael edited episodes of the series Só se for por Amor (2022) for Netflix and Além do Guarda-Roupa (2023) for Max, in addition to the short film Maputo (2024), awarded at the 2024 Gramado Festival in several categories and winner of the editing prize at the National Exhibition of the 2024 Anápolis Film Festival.
